Welcome to Class 3
Our learning journey this half term...
This term we are looking at The Victorian Times. This topic not only allows us to focus on our understanding of what life was like but also it gives us the option to explore the history of Plymouth. Throughout the term, we will be experiencing what life was like in a Victorian School.
In Maths this term we are looking at fractions. Over the year, it is important that the children continue to learn and practice their 3, 4 and 8 times tables.
In writing this term we are looking at Diaries. Over the term, the class will have a chance to write their own Victorian diary entry.
This term we are looking at lent. This unit further explores Lent as a time when we prepare for Easter.
It enables pupils to explore how this preparation involves change.
Mr Thomas Langley
Children will be given weekly homework, which will be set every Friday and will be due in for the following Thursday. The homework will include:
- Weekly spellings
- Literacy planet
Children will also need to practice their times tables as often as they can at home so they can travel the world in our Times Table Travels, as well as practicing their One Minute Maths.
It is also important that children read daily in order to continue developing as confident writers.
If you have any questions about homework, please come and ask!
Due to changes in the timetable, the children will be expected to keep PE kit in school all week.
