Welcome to Class 3
Our learning journey this half term...
This term we are looking at the popular children's book, 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. This topic not only allows us to focus on constructing and designing our own children's books, it also lends itself to studying the impact that plants have on our environment, and how plants grow.
In maths this term we are looking at time, so if your child has an analogue watch I would advise them to bring it in, as well as practice at home. We will also be looking at statistics and various charts and tables.
The focus for RE this term is Easter. During this topic connections will be made between the events of Easter, Holy Week, the teachings and life of Jesus and the celebration of the Eucharist. There is also a focus on the appearance of Jesus to his disciples.
Mr Thomas Langley
Children will be given weekly homework, which will be set every Friday and will be due in for the following Wednesday. The homework will include:
- Weekly spellings
- Literacy planet
Children will also need to practice their times tables as often as they can at home so they can travel the world in our Times Table Travels, as well as practicing their One Minute Maths.
It is also important that children read daily in order to continue developing as confident writers.
If you have any questions about homework, please come and ask!
Due to changes in the timetable, the children will have PE in the afternoon on a Wednesday and Friday on a Week A. On a Week B, children will have PE on Monday and Wednesday. Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school on these days. Children will be reminded to take their PE kits home every half term.
