Writing
During the first part of the autumn term, we will be immersed in performing, evaluating and composing limerick poetry. Following on from our poetry we will create then entertain with flashback narratives inspired by our class text this term. Our non-fiction will be centred around writing instuctions.
Religious Education
Our opening unit asks fthe question - What does the word 'family' mean to you? This will allow the class to explore the meaning of christian family lif in scripture. Following on from this we look at What difference does 'belonging' make in your life?
Maths
During the first part of the autumn term we will ensure a solid understanding of place value with numbers to one thousand. Children will need to be able to compare and order numbers to 1000 and count in multiples of 4, 8, 50 and 100. Our next focus will be to use formal written methods for both addition and subtraction.
