At St Joseph's, we use Kapow Primary to deliver a rich and creative Art and Design Technology (D.T) curriculum, ensuring that pupils develop a wide range of practical and creative skills. We alternate between Art and D.T each half term, allowing children to immerse themselves fully in each subject and build on their knowledge in a structured, meaningful way.

Kapow provides clear, progressive lesson sequences that encourage pupils to explore ideas, experiment with materials, and develop their technical skills while also learning about famous artists, designers, and craftspeople.

In Art, children focus on creativity, expression, and developing techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.

In D.T, pupils design, make, and evaluate products with a real purpose, applying problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This alternating approach ensures full coverage of both subjects while keeping learning engaging, varied, and inspiring throughout the year.
