St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

Uniform

At our St Joseph's, we believe that wearing the correct school uniform helps to create a sense of pride, equality, and belonging among all pupils. School uniform is mandatory and should be worn at all times when attending school, except on designated P.E. days. On these days, children should come to school dressed in their P.E. kit, ready to take part in physical activities safely and comfortably. We ask that all items of uniform and P.E. kit follow the school’s guidelines and are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Wearing the correct clothing helps pupils to represent our school positively and ensures that everyone is prepared for learning each day.

Our School Uniform policy is based on the notion that school uniform:

  • promotes a sense of pride in the school
  • creates a sense of community and belonging towards the school
  • is smart
  • identifies the children with the school
  • makes children feel equal to their peers, in terms of appearance
  • is regarded as suitable wear for school and good value for money by most parents
  • is designed with health and safety in mind
